Insight were commissioned to upgrade the Audio Visual systems as part of a wider refurbishment project undertaken by the client. The client interfacing meeting room suite included a Boardroom, Screening room and an additional meeting room which could be split from the Screening room or adjoined via a removable wall.
The Screening room required content viewing in 4K so an Extron high resolution Switch was chosen covering all three spaces. The rack was to be located outside of the meeting rooms so a central set up for all control and switching was designed.
Television was to be distributed via an Exterity IPTV solution and this was upgraded to cover the HD channels.
Insight designed an Audio Visual solution for each meeting room utilising 84” display screens, a central rack position, Extron switching and control with integrated video conferencing in each room utilising Polycom codecs, and Shure beam form ceiling microphones routed via a QSC DSP.
The screening room required content viewing at up to 4K resolution with a surround sound audio solution on video playback – as an addition to the normal video and audio conference use. All speakers needed to be recessed and either hidden or flush mounted within the space. The Surround Sound Processor used to split the channels was an Extron SSP 7.1 and each channel was amplified using an 8 channel Ecler power amplifier. The speakers used were Monitor Audio CP-W380 flush mount speakers.
As the decor was quite dark in these rooms, we needed to integrate the Audio Visual in a seamless way – placing most equipment outside of the meeting room spaces. With Extron under table cubbies, cable retractors and auto switchers from the furniture positions we were able to distribute the sources to and from a central rack position. With ceiling microphones we were able to keep the audio pick up off the table tops so that movable furniture could be used in the Screening room and the boardroom table was kept clear. The result is clean and funky and the client is very happy with the final look and feel.
