Many
Lecture theatres have tiered seating and are invariably education
based, whether it be in a University, School or company. The type
of equipment found in this environment is very similar to that found
in a Presentation
room. However, as many lecture theatres are large in size a
brighter projector may be required such as the Epson EMP
7800 (3500 ansi
lumen) or the Sharp XG
P10 XE (3000 ansi
lumen). Plasma screens or monitors are usually to small for
this environment, but can be useful in theatres that have restricted
viewing angles as secondary presentation devices.
If
the room is larger you will require a larger screen. Screens incorporated
into column board systems are very popular and allow flexibility
in using whiteboards and projection screens in the same space. Larger
screens will be either fixed or electric in operation.
The
theatre would have multimedia capabilities including video, audio,
OHP
and 35mm
slide. DVD and CD technology may also be required, and all this
equipment would be rack based. Any number of PC inputs can be provided
via a switcher for the projector to project. Separate audio may
be required for voice support in the larger lecture theatres, and
this is provided via microphones, mixers or mixer amplifiers and
100v line amplifiers feeding a grid of ceiling mounted speakers.
A control system such as the Crestron
CNMSX AV with a touch
screen panel would control all equipment including the lights
within the room, and would be a necessity with this amount of equipment
to control.
